What LumoWatt verifies

For a listing marked license-checked, we confirm the business holds an active electrical or contractor license with the relevant state board as of the date shown on its profile. What license verification doesn't cover

A checked license confirms the business is legally allowed to do electrical work in that state. It is not a quality rating, it doesn't reflect customer reviews, pricing, past complaints, or workmanship, and it doesn't guarantee a particular outcome. Use it as one input alongside quotes, references, and your own judgment, not as the only thing you check.

How to choose an installer

Get quotes from at least two or three license-checked installers, not just one.

Confirm who pulls the permit, an installer who skips permitting is a red flag.
Ask what the workmanship warranty covers separately from the manufacturer warranty.
