LumoWatt

Privacy policy

Last updated: August 2026.

This policy explains what information LumoWatt ("LumoWatt," "we," "us") collects when you use lumowatt.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Quote requests. When you request a quote through the Site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), ZIP code, and any message you provide.

Business listings and claims. If you submit a business for listing or claim an existing listing, we collect the business name, address, service area, contact details, license information, and the name, email, and phone number of the person submitting the request.

Accounts. If you claim a listing, we create an account for you (via our authentication provider, Supabase) tied to your email address. We don't see or store your password in plain text — it's handled entirely by our authentication provider.

Payments. If you purchase a paid listing tier, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address and subscription status from Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Corrections and removal requests. If you submit a correction or removal request, we collect your name, email, and the details of your request.

Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you visit. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this data.

How we use this information

How we share information

Installers. When you submit a quote request, we share your name, contact information, and message with the specific installer(s) you requested a quote from — capped at 3 installers per request. We do not sell or bulk-share your quote-request information with installers who weren't part of that request.

Service providers. We share information with the vendors that operate the Site on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Vercel (hosting), and Google (analytics). Each only receives the information needed to perform its function.

State licensing boards. We query public government license-verification records to confirm a business's license status. This is us reading public government data, not us sending your data to a licensing board.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LumoWatt, our users, or the public.

We do not sell personal data to data brokers or advertisers.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies for two purposes: keeping you signed in (if you have a listing account) and Google Analytics usage tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect your ability to stay signed in.

Advertising

The Site does not currently show third-party ads. We may introduce advertising (such as Google AdSense) in the future, limited to informational content — educational guides, generator comparison pages, glossary pages, and data reports — never on the homepage, the installer directory, individual installer profiles, the claim-listing flow, or any homeowner lead form. If we do, a third-party ad provider may use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and we'll update this section — before any ads go live — to describe what that provider collects and how to opt out (including, where applicable, the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool and Google's Ad Settings).

Data retention

We keep quote-request, listing, and correction-request records for as long as needed to operate the Site and to maintain an accurate record of licensing verification history. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time (see "Your choices" below); we'll honor that request unless we're required to retain the data for legal or accounting purposes.

Your choices

If you are a California resident, these rights are consistent with the access, deletion, and opt-out rights described under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are located outside the United States, please note the Site is operated in the United States and your information will be processed here.

Data security

We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled databases, and vendors that maintain their own security certifications (Stripe, Supabase) — to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so we can't promise your information will never be exposed, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
