Idaho's outage risk in the Treasure Valley (Boise, Meridian) is driven by summer wildfire-related PSPS-style shutoffs, high-wind events, and winter ice storms, while the Coeur d'Alene and North Idaho panhandle region faces a notably different climate profile with heavier winter snow loads, ice storms off nearby lakes, and wind-driven timber falls onto power lines through dense forested terrain.
